Visiting with Mr. Leo! (Mr. Ash is 4 months old)

Doug and I made a drive to Humble to visit Baby Leo and Cynthia. We were able to watch the Texans game and the whole time Cynthia and Doug were on their iPhones checking their Fantasy Teams...pretty funny to watch. Thanks for a great Sunday Cynthia! (Update me with exactly how many weeks Leo was too if you can Mrs. C. That way people can see what a HUGE baby he is for his age).

p.s. Asher is in his Pearl-Snap onesie (size 9 months and it was a little snug on his torso).

Happy Birthday Glenn! Happy Housewarming Angie!

Glenn and Angie hosted a wonderful Housewarming/ Glenn's Birthday Celebration Party in the Heights. It was our first time there, and we quickly discovered she just lived a street away from my Grandma Lucy. Angie is an AMAZING baker and had a menu of ALL VEGAN treats! (The vegan food was for some of the guests who were vegan, its not all of what Angie makes). Everything was delicious. She's taking orders too (yes along with law school, she runs her own baking business). So if you're ever in the mood for some awesome dessert, I'll give you her contact info. Poor Amaris, she was not feeling good at all, and she still made it out. I was really happy to see there there! (You can see her kicked out on the couch). Asher actually came to the party too, and fortunatley their house is 2 story so he just slept upstairs the whole time. This was the night U of H beat Texas Tech, so the guys were VERY LOUD. Fortunately it didn't disturb my little man. (And you know how houses in the Heights echo everywhere!)

Neglecting the blog...I blame my new iPhone 3GS!

So I finally plugged my iPhone into my computer and viola, my photos uploaded immediately. I was going to use my phone as an excuse as to why I didn't have picture (actual camera) updates anymore...but alas since I can see my pics on my laptop very easily, I can't do that now. So there should be no reason I don't have more frequent updates. Enjoy!
Asher's first 'creation' he made at day care. His little hand in a fall leaf.
Asher at home with me today getting his grub on. Here he is sitting up in day care when I picked him up yesterday. I had no idea he was doing this! I was very proud of him...

Asher and his dad earlier this week. Adorable...

'Standing' Around at 4 months...Ha!

This is just Asher and I being silly. I know its awful that I'm doing this to him, but it was just to take a quick photo. I don't want to stunt his growth after all...wait, maybe I do. Its hard to hold him seated now because he's all LEGS! It makes me think he's ready to so more 'big baby' things, so I have to remind myself to slow down and remember he's still a little guy.

Weekend in Beach City

After Woody's Retirement Dinner we headed to Donna and Darrell's (aka Nona and Popsi's) for the night---and that turned into an entire weekend. Its just so relaxing any time we're at any of our parents' homes. Thanks to Donna I was able to get some really good photos of Asher doctored up so I could finally fill the void of photo frames in his room. Next stop, the rest of the house!

We really enjoyed our weekend though. I don't think we ever planned to stay there the whole time, it just sort of happened. We didn't even leave the house all day Saturday! We were given the boot on Sunday though (I jokingly say this of course) because Lindsey (my sis-in-law) was arriving from Athens. That's right, its almost time for Baby Bird to arrive. (S)he'll likely be 7 months younger than Asher. (The baby's gender is still a secret to everyone). And Asher is 8 months younger than Cousin Evan. They're going to all be so close in age. It'll make for a 'photo-filled' Christmas and Holiday Season.

Celebrating Labor Day

Asher got to spend a weekday with his daddy while mommy worked. I think this was the first weekDAY Doug got to spend home with him. They had a good time and were caught at Home Depot and HEB.

Asher is 4 months old...wow

Our little man is now officially 4 months old. He's changed so much and is just alot of fun for mommy and daddy. His check-up with the pediatrician went very well, and we were told we could start him on cereal if we would like.

Height: 26 1/4 inches 90%
Head: 17 inches 75%
Weight: 15 lbs...and something. 50%
I cannot tell from the form they sent home with us. Oops! (I don't know if their .5 means 5 oz or 1/2 an ounce, as in 8 ounces...no big deal).

My dad and mom actually took him to the doctor since both Doug and I were working that day. My mom had to leave the room for the shots but my dad was the "brave one" and stayed with my little Ash-boy. Of course he cried along with Asher and I was told he would NOT take him again.

There wasn't a reaction to the shots, they usually just make him eat a little less and sleep harder. He also kicks his legs like normal, so I think he forgets he's even gotten them (at least that's what my mom says). He's back to his 6.5-7 oz feedings again.
