Training for our 1st Marathon

Is so much easier with...
Newton running shoes! I was a New Balance girl since high school. I even tried Asics once while in the Marines. I really liked Nike Pegasus in the past couple years but during the 1/2 Marathon this year I was introduced to Newtons. They're amazing. If you don't have good form, they force you to. My husband experienced this and he feels its really helped him...I didn't notice since I already had rockin' form. :P
We gave our super-heavy Jeep jogging stroller the boot and upgraded to this awesome piece of aluminium...the one-of-a-kind BOB Ironman Jogging Stroller. Love, LOVE, love it. Especially when Asher and I are passing people at Memorial Park on it. Watch out people! :)

In all seriousness we're very happy we can take Asher out with us (he can last a happy 4 miles) and give him a good example of healthy living early on. He still does not watch TV and he's super active at Westbury Baptist School and The Little Gym.
Doug is dying to put him up on a surfboard already. He figures he can push him into a little whitewater soon. Asher will certainly have his choice in surfboards when he's really ready too...our 9 or so custom-built surfboards are now home decor and playtoys.

Linda's Texans Party

My sister and uncle moved into one of my dad's rental properties and had a really nice Texans Game Watch Party/Housewarming on Sunday. What an awesome game vs. the Redskins, right? Here is my sweet Tia Edna and her daughter Ivanna "La Cubana".
My cousin Amanda was so sweet with Asher. She's in her last year of nursing school! Whoo hoo for all the nurses in the family. I'm trying to convince her to get into Pediatrics. Ha. Check out how big 4 yr old Jordan has gotten. My sister Linda & Erica a.k.a. 'Sori'.
Three out of the five members of the Carbajal Clan.

Yvette's Quincenera

The same night as my high school reunion was my cousin Yvette's Quincenera. It was not fun to have to leave early and miss the dance, but we were able to see the blessings and catch up with lots of old faces.

Gotta love that smile!

And the Yvette grin...

Yvette and big brother Jason escorting her in. He's a freshman at UT-SA this year. Crazy to think I used to pick him up from ELEMENTARY school.

My nephew/godson Brandon taking advantage of some photo opportunities. Not sure if they'll want to develop the camera he wound up with. :P

We were fortunate this hall was less than 3 miles from our house! We jumped onto Beechnut and were there in a flash. No excuses to show up late, right? I'm so used to getting ready quickly but boy have things changed since having a toddler now.

10 Year Reunion from St. Pius X High School!

St. Pius X homeopener was vs. Worthing High school. Yes, private schools can put a spanking on public schools! We wound up winning the game. I haven't been to a SPX game since I had to fulfill 'Homecoming (Runner-up) Queen' duties to crown the class after me. I was just in awe at all the changes around me. I saw so many of my old teachers, principal, coaches, etc.

Building Forts with Daddy

I am usually the picture taker of our family, but occassionally Doug does pick the camera up during his playtime with Asher. (Usually while mommy is working...boo hoo). I LOVE the results. Despite being sad I couldn't join in their fun, its hilarious seeing that happens during their "Boys Time". I wonder if they'd even let momomy in their Man Cave. Asher being destructive...
I like to think Doug captured Asher's first look inside!
Here's the silly boy I know...
Maybe this reminds him of the rainbow wheel at The Little Gym.
Finished product!

Football at Doug's Alma Mater

Asher and I had not been to Aggie Land since I was in my first trimester of pregnancy. That visit was also to check out a football game and Doug showed us around campus: his old dorm, the site of Bonfire, good Aggie grub spots, etc. This time it was for little man to see what the thought of 80K+ fans going nuts for some Aggie Football! Since it was Patriot Day, they decorated the A&M logo.
It was so hot! Check out Asher's curls that burst out when his hair gets wet.
My photos are a tad out of order...
Asher making sure Daddy keeps his head straight.
And they ended with an Aggie Win! Gig 'Em!
