Asher is 4 weeks already

Asher was 4 weeks this past Wednesday, May 27th. As I write this he's 1 month old...so take your pick for his one month mark. He's no longer a neonate! He's also 10 lbs 4.5 oz as of today.
Here he is doing some of his activities for the day. I had to show his legs up during one of his 'exercise sessions'. He's constantly trying to just get momentum to kick himself over. My mom calls him a 'Rolly Baby'. When Donna was here helping with Asher, she, Doug and I all saw Asher roll over while we were changing him. He was positioned at a 30 degree (or so) angle before it happened, but how many not even 2 week old babies take that as an invite to complete a roll?! Next time I'll get it some proof for those non-believers... ;) He did take a rare ride in the car to see my cousin JR headed back to the Naval Academy. He loves the Beltway! Or just periods of no stops. So at times 610 or 290 will work for him too.I'm sure you can see we have a case of baby-acne going on...poor little guy.

Cousin Brandon Helps Out!

Asher's cousin Brandon (my sister Linda's son and my godson) loves to come over and visit...I'm sure it has nothing to do with Linda's insistence that she see Asher daily… ;P Just kidding Sista. Well we discovered Brandon really enjoys reading to Asher. So much that he has to have one arm around him while he’s doing it…and he must give Asher at least 10 kisses while doing so. It’s very sweet to watch.
Brandon has also decided he will put together the rest of Asher’s toys. The last one—that Asher is small enough to get use of—is a rocking vibrator chair that he can use till he’s a toddler. Here is Brandon helping my dad (Abuelito--nicknamed Lito) put it together.

Felicia's a TWU grad!

I officially graduated from the TWU-Houston Nursing Program. Here's a photo of our "RN Pin" and the cake at our pinning ceremony. Now Doug and I can compete to whose BS degree rates over the other's. Ha. ;o)

Great-grandparents visit

Asher's great-grandparents came to visit him this past week. Felicia's Abuelito came down with his wife Vicky from Woodville while Doug's Grandma Manning came down to visit from Lufkin. All were very happy to meet our little man.

Chunky-butt Asher: 3 weeks old!

Asher had his 2 week check-up last week with Dr. Alley in the Medical Center. I don't have the exact measurements...but I do recall the precentiles:

Weight: 8lbs 11+ oz. Puts him at 50%
Head: 50%
Length: 22 INCHES. Puts him at 90%
Doug and I weighed him yesterday (3 weeks and 1 day) and he was 9 1/2 lbs already! (We received a really nice digital scale as a gift). So he isn't quite the chunky butt as this post is titled-- I checked out his butt and its not mine--but he's one long little guy. :o)

Here is a photo of the stork we had in our yard for a week. Thanks for getting this for us Mimi (Doug's mother Sheila). I'd never seen anything like it before! Very cool.

p.s. if you'd like to see the details of any of these photos, just click on one. Next time I'll post so they're larger on the blog.

Love,

Doug, Felicia, & Asher Fagala
