Nursery update/ 24 weeks pregnant

We ordered our baby furniture last week--you can see a photo of it below. All that needs to be done is picking it up! It's encouraging me to move out the boxes that have been temporarily placed in the baby's room. Bedding is chosen but we're waiting for Doug Jr's/Doug-guina's arrival to see whether it's going to be "Mod Ladybuys" or "Mod Turtle". (The future Daddy chose them...and I was very happy to oblige :P) I'll be sure to bring my laptop to the hospital so we can send off for these things ASAP.
All the grandparents: Crawford's, Fagala's, and Selvera's have so GRACIOUSLY helped us to get the furniture we'll need for the nursery. All we need to do now is choose a comfy chair for Mr. Douglas and I to use! My godparents Romeo and Viola are also helping us with some additional accessories we found out about too: mattress, conversion kit, etc. Thanks to all of you for these incredible gifts.
Here's a shot of me (23 weeks, 6 days) prior to the pilates class I thought I could handle. I couldn't get past the warm-up knowing that I was going to spend WAY too much time on my back= not good for baby. So I just finished up my workout with weights and cardio. I also went shopping for a pregnancy bathing suit...yuck. Aqua classes at the gym are beneficial, so I'll just suck it up and strut my stuff. ha.

Pictures!

Doug allowed me to upgrade my old Sony 5.1 megapixel to a 10.1! I'm so happy with it...I couldn't have got it without finding the best deal out there (read: no taxes/shipping, etc...haha). So here is a mixture of photos from my new/old camera. Now I can easily upload them too now that I have my PC connector back. I love my husband... he also got the baby and I a very beautiful Kate Spade diaper bag. I had no idea she even made them! Wow...
Here is the "Little King" being carried up the steps at the River Walk...needless to say Brandon got a kick out of this treatment. He grinned the whole way. (You can see his leg kicked up in the photo).
We go to the Menger Hotel in San Antonio every holiday season. It usually falls during my mom's birthday, December 28th. Here is Brandon opening the Chihuahua his Mina (Madrina--me) got him. His Mino (Padrino) Doug got him a super-fly Adidas track suit.
Here I am trying on my new Moby for the baby. It's a little different than I expected since I have a bit of a bump in the way. My pal Megan HIGHLY recommened it to me. I'm optimistic it'll work out. Grandma Manning, daughter Sheila, and grandkids Doug and Lauren.
Doug sitting in disbelief at seeing his dad WITHOUT his mustache for the first time ever. It looks good Darrell! You can see how big Evan's gotten here too.
Doug being silly with Kahlua the chihuaha mix at George's New Year's Eve Party. Doug and our pals Angie & Amaris. We had a great time that night you guys. You fed the baby and I very well, as usual.

Holiday Update-- 22 weeks pregnant

I'm here at home growing very frustrated with what was supposed to be an internet connection that would blow my socks off...yeah right. I set this up myself, so I'm sure that's why its not up-to-par...yet. Fortunately my dad is here painting our master bedroom, so once he's done, I think his 30+ years with AT&T will be able to hook me up correctly.

Pregnancy: I felt the baby move during my 20th week of pregnancy. It just feels like there's a tiny finger in there nudging me. I feel it doing more of a rolling motion now. My hospital ultrasound showed all fingers/toes...including a long 2nd toe...thanks Doug. haha. The sonogram woman even mentioned we have a little surfer baby. (Without any mentioning of Doug's favorite activity). So this baby will be in the water very soon. The mouth and other organs looked good too. The baby was very stubborn in holding his/her hand over its head, so it was tough to get a profile shot. I had to empty my bladder, turn side to side, touch my toes, etc. hoping that he/she would get into a better position. After nearly 30-45 minutes, we had to settle with a decent profile shot vs. what the sonographer hoped for. So far no one in the doctor's office knows the sex. I've noticed when I ask to not know, whoever is checking me just stays away from the genital area.

My hubby Doug: He felt the baby move during my 21st week of pregnancy. It was at Ashley and Hunter's house. Hunter ran over to see if he could feel what I thought were hiccups (I was wrong) but was unsuccessful. I think the baby likes Doug (or the opposite). He/she was hitting his arm last night too before we went to bed.

Christmas: Doug and I just finished our holiday celebrations this past Sunday night. We were going to Woodville, San Antonio, Baytown, Seguin, and Beach City for those 5 days. [Unfortunately I had to miss seeing my grandmother here in the Heights]. We got some awesome gifts and I was initiated into the infamous Fagala "Game". Beyond the traveling, we were able to enjoy the down-time with family.

The new house: I'd like to post some photos up soon once this internet connection is more reliable. I'd also like a new camera...we'll see what we do with our Christmas money. I'd really like for Doug to get a BBQ pit. I need my protein after all...haha. As I mentioned earlier, my dad is providing us with some major help by painting while Doug does what he can once he's off of work. Our lease officially ends in Pearland January 5th, so we'll spend the weekend ensuring the place is spic-and-span.

School: I don't go back till January 20th, so in the meantime I'd like to complete all these unfinished project I've been meaning to get to. Once school starts things get crazy and that's an understatement. As I'm sure you've all noticed it's as if I don't have a life, so that's why I'd really like to take advantage of the next (nearly) 3 weeks. The baby is due May 6th, and in the same month I have graduation and likely my NCLEX (licensing RN exam) too.

Thanks for taking the time to read this (minus any fun pictures).

Love,

Mrs. F

The New House/ 20 weeks along

Doug & Felicia are official home-owners! We got our keys on Monday, so we've been scurrying to get things put into the new house. Not so easy now that 1/2 of our "Moving Team" is pregnant. :P We've enlisted the help of some friends and family...thank God for them, so we can get things rolling. I hope you can see what the place looks like via our slideshow above. Once we get some rooms painted (or even sooner than that) we'd love to have friends and family over.

We're also 20 weeks along today. I've leveled off some in my weight gain...mainly because I think I packed on too much too fast. So I'm holding steady at 20lbs gained at 20 weeks. In the photo below I have on what used to be a "Normal Felicia-size Small T-shirt". You can see it's a little snug. More like screaming to be released. Ha. Last week I was able to attend my "Kick-Your-Booty-Step-Class". I am happy to say I stayed for the whole thing--minus the high kicks. Regardless, I'm happy to be hitting the gym again. I have to condition myself and this little one. He/she will be our running partner in no time!

One last note: finals ended last week! I'm one semester away from my Bachelor of Science-Nursing from Texas Woman's University.

(Yes mom, I cleaned the mirror before I took this :~P)

Semester is coming to an end...

I'm due to take a very important comprehensive exam this Thursday and finals are all next week. I'm praying I keep my sanity and can find the energy to keep my 'study schedule'. (Did I mention it stinks being in the first graduating class of guinea pigs at TWU?...new curriculum. I'll explain later...)

I'm finally showing some good belly action too. It's as if I just woke up on week 17 with this growing bump. I can no longer just squeeze into my jeans, so I've accepted that my fly will remain down till I buy some more Bella Bands. I hope everyone is safe, healthy, and was not overwhelmed by the shoppers this past week. I look forward to learning more about 'blogging' during my much-needed winter break.

Love,
Mrs. F

p.s. If all goes well we'll be signing on our new house December 12th-ish. It is in the Westbury neighborhood behind Meyerland (Braeswood).

Yes, we're pregnant

pregnancy due date

Hello friend and family,

Its been a while since I've tried to wrangle this new 'blog thing'. It is very new to me, so please be patient...

News to update you on:

Doug and I found out we're 9 weeks pregnant. Due date is May 6, 2009. Doug is hoping for a Cinco De Mayo baby. ha.

I'm back in school, so that means 2 days of lecture, and 3, 12-hour shifts per week. Yeah! And add another rotation for my elective in the OR. Then finding time to be a wife, healthy pregnant woman, sister, friend, aunt, yadda yadda.

Our apartment in Pearland had minimal damage. We were without power so we stayed at Nani's house. We just had to wash a few more loads when we got back since some of our clothes got wet--and stinky-- from the storm.

Well, I'll end this now. I can get wordy. Plus I just got 'off' at 7:15am this morning, so I'm a little pooped.

Love,
Mrs. F
