Half-Marathon in Austin & Valentine's Day!

Doug and I spent Valentine's Day doing a half-marathon. LOTS of fun too. (I'm actually writing this post 2 days after, and our knees and ankles are still with us. We even went to lift yesterday). It was extremely hilly, but a gorgeous day that was so chilly you have to be a runner to appreciate it. We stayed right on the water at the Radisson, but even more important, right next to the starting line.

We're planning our next Marathon run now! I think we like these weekend trips with the new scenery.

Asher's last day at the YMCA-Medical Center

We've known for a while Asher would be switching day care centers. There are so many close to the house, but they either cost more than my private high school tuition, or we had to wait till Asher was old enough.

Well, he's finally old enough for Westbury Baptist Church, and there was finally an opening. (He's been on the list since he was still in my belly). I really like that I can walk/run there AND we can just pay for the days we use. We used to pay a full-time rate then I'd never take him when I was off work. So we'd only use them 1-2 days a week sometimes! I think I'll get more done with him so close and knowing he can just go there for a few hours (no more 'guilty mommy' feelings then)! Ha. Asher and the director of the center, Ms. Jackson.
They still wanted to see Asher walk before he left. Trust me, his mommy can wait!
Asher, Jake, and Raphael. Julia was sleeping at the time. Not sure where Ryan was.
Silly Asher face.
Raphael "the Ham"' behind Asher.
We thanked the teachers and staff with CRAVE cupcakes. One described them as "tasting like real ice cream!"
Thank you for taking care of our little one from 3 months-9 months YMCA!

Boy its nice only working one weekend a month now. We were able to make a superbowl party at the Castaneda's house, only a mile from our abode!

Finally picked up my diploma!

I ordered this last year, and it was actually ready before Turkey Day! I cannot believe how long I waited...regardless, Aaron Bros. did an awesome job I think. I took Doug's A&M Diploma in and just asked them to "duplicate it!" I didn't have a cool photo to put on top, so I thought my Nursing License would fill-in nicely.

Big boy at 8 months

Since we've dropped Asher's mattress we've notice him engage in different 'sleeping positions'. He normally would sleep and not move much, just put his arm over his head (like Mommy). Well now that he has all this room he decides to flip and go on his side. Very funny since his booty is usually sticking out.
Note: No Asher doesn't normally sleep on pillows. That pillow is his elevation and his comforter covers it. Good during these winter months to prevent drainage from clogging his nose.
